Purity Control - Adjusting

I can't find much information on this band but holy fuck are they ever great. From what I can gather Purity Control are a hardcore band from Toronto that boarder on powerviolence in terms of musical output. I can't find any social media pages or find any recent show's they've been booked for so I'm going to assume they're no longer a band. Anyways, they have 3 releases on their bandcamp which are all worth listening to, check it out.

Holy Grinder - Eradicate All Scum

This was one of my favorite releases from Ontario last year. Featuring members of Goth Girl, Madtrapper, War Balm, and The Blind Surgeons Operation, Toronto's Holy Grinder come out swinging with their debut album "Eradicate All Scum". This release calls to mind early Full Of Hell releases or material similar to their collaboration with the Body. There's swells of noise and suedo ambience inbetween blastbeats and some of the thickest bass you can imagine. Highly recommended, don't fuck up, check it out.

Their 2016 demo is 4 tracks of blistering hardcore that fans of bands like Defeater, Counterparts and early Stick To Your Guns should be into. Punisher - World Eater

Formerly known as Purgatory, Keswick's Punisher play a brand of heavy beatdown hardcore that fans of bands like Desolated, Xibalba, and Drowning should be into. World Eater came out last May and offers up 7 tracks of mosh worthy riffs. If you had to check out just one track I would recommend the title track, it's a complete shitkicker and leaves you wanting more. Check these guys out now and show them some love.

Harriers - Mankind Will Fall

Hailing from Montreal, Harriers play a brand of metallic hardcore that boarders on crossover thrash. Throughout their newest release you'll find tons of mosh riffs, sweet guitar solo's, and vocals that sound scathing enough to tear your head off (including a guest spot from Maxime Vallieres of Prowl). Mankind Will Fall is another solid outing from these guys, don't sleep on it.

World View - Wilt

Vancouver's World View flew under the radar for me until recently when I came across them on another site and holy fuck did this one surprise the hell out of me. Their most recent release "Wilt" serves up two tracks of nonstop fight riffs that call to mind bands like Trapped Under Ice, Terror and even some early Madball. This one's another highly recommended EP and I can't see anyone being letdown by this one.

Coffin Dragger - Desperation EP

Hailing from London, Ontario Coffin Dragger play a brand of metallic hardcore akin to bands like Knocked Loose and Varials. From the opening notes of "Desperation" to the final notes of closing track "Liar" Coffin Dragger manage to bludgeon you with some of the heaviest riffs you'll hear out of Ontario's burgeoning hardcore scene, frontman Nick Greeson yells and barks his way through all 7 tracks with a sense of purpose and provides more than most vocalists in the scene do. Overall this is a solid debut outing and you'll surely regret missing out on this release if you pass it up.

Reliever - Two Songs

Reliever are a three piece hardcore band from Windsor Ontario. Two Songs, their newest outing was released November 15th, 2016. Opening track "Scale" starts of with an ominous riff and swells of feedback before leading into a blistering barrage of punk riffs that just build and build until it eventually hits a peak and drops you into a breakdown that'll have you banging your head like you're at a Slayer show, while the second track "Hunt" opens with a groovy two-step part before bringing in some blast beats only to switch seamlessly back and forth between the two before turning into a pit riff free for all. Overall this is a strong outing for these boys and a solid follow up to their previous EP "Something Wrong".
